This shantung material is woven in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, using cotton for the warp and silk and linen for the weft in an alternating pattern. Ordinary shantung is a 100% silk dress material, but by using linen and other materials and specially designing it, it has a rough and shiny feel and is an ATON original material characterized by its unique tautness and creakiness.
